When Chrysler mixed with Fiat on June 10

When Chrysler mixed with Fiat on June ten, 2009, there had been cause for hope and positivism. On paper it appeared like a fair deal for everyone. After a never ending string of bad news, maybe, the auto industry was not dead yet. Fiat would return to the US sell its preferred 500 ( Cinquecentro ), Chrysler would get a line of autos that consumers might truly buy, and one or two thousand staff would keep their roles. Tap Fiat Fiat has one model platform that could be right for the Chrysler twins, but there’s a difficulty it is too narrow for Chrysler. Middle size American autos must be of a certain width in order to successfully compete, the Fiat platform is long enough though not wide enough. Fiat would go through the price of distending its middle size sedan platform, a remarkably high-priced cost at that. A variety of safety enhancements have found their way into the later models, for example further beams for the front doors, a better safety cage, higher head restraints to reduce whiplash injuries, and safer multistage airbags than new Jeep.
